MTIA MUAY THAI INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION GUIDELINES

MUAY THAI INSTRUCTOR ASSOCIATION

The MUAY THAI INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION ‘MTIA’ is one of the most successful Muay Thai Associations in the world with hundreds of gyms affiliated and thousands of members.

Muay Thai has been around for hundreds if not thousands of years as a lethal deadly martial art used by Military Warriors of Siam and is still today known as the ‘art of eight limbs’ whereby fighters use their legs, fists, elbows, knees, etc to beat their opponent.

The Association has been developed by Grand Master Toddy over 40 years to aid Instructors in the art of teaching Muay Thai to students in a simple yet exciting step by step approach allowing the students to grow in confidence and enjoy every moment of their training in the art of Muay Thai Grand Master Toddy started his life in Muay Thai at the tender age of 5 years and has been his life ever since.
Nearly five decades later he has seen the sport grow into a Worldwide phenomenon. He has trained more than 40 World Champions and has cornered over 300 bouts and throughout these years of experience has created one of the most effective training systems the world has ever seen. The MTIA has been developed for YOU to pass on the traditional way of Muay Thai and the secrets of Master passed down to student over the ages
and for YOU to learn how to create World Champions and your gym into one of the most successful Gyms in YOUR region and blowing your competition away!

Grading System

The Muay Thai grading system was originally introduced by Grand Master Toddy some 30 years ago, when he studied multiple Martial arts such as Taikwando, Wrestling, Western Boxing and Muay Thai. He was frustrated by the approach of teaching Muay Thai in many gyms whereby Thai kids would ‘punch, punch -kick, kick’ only. This style of teaching multiple repetition without focusing on the actual technique and without any organized training program did not and couldn’t work for westerners wishing to learn the art of Muay Thai.
Therefore Grand Master Toddy set about creating a step by step approach whereby the student could gain confidence and slowly build up their skill in each skill. The outcome of this was the Muay Thai grading system.

MUAY THAI INSTRUCTOR ASSOCIATION

For each grade the student has to have studied for a minimum of 72 hours before their instructor can grade them.

Having passed a grade the student receives one grading set which consists of

  •   grade certificate
  •   colored prajiet
  •   colored sash

For grading each Instructor / gym will carry out a graduation ceremony. This graduation ceremony and the details of the students being graded will be recorded and sent to the MTIA HQ in Bangkok Thailand.

Gyms can send pictures of the graduation ceremony and pictures of the graded student to be posted on the website!
