The immense success of the reality television series Fight Girls (2007) in North America also transcended across borders and women from all over the world becamse increasingly interested in the art of Muay Thai. The television series Fight Girls not only increased the global visibility of women in martial arts but female empowerment and strength as a whole. Grand Master Toddy received thousands of e-mails and facebook messages from women in Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, North America, and South America, thanking him for creating this great source of motivation. Whether it be in their careers, relationships, sports, or overall goals, viewers connected with the women in the series and realized that with hard work, motivation, drive, and determination they too could do anything they set their minds to. Dreams were no longer just dreams, they could become a reality. Master Toddy received many requests from female fighters to take part in the second series. His mindset was as follows: “Motivation is everything. Understand that achieving anything requires faith and belief in yourself; vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all thing are possible for those who believe.” With this, Master Toddy set out to build a new group of Tuff Girls and found: Nicole Coleman, Caitlin Mercer, Kathi Fabbri, Justine Kish, Louise Bryan, Kathryn March, Sandy Furner, Sarah George, and Sarah Rankin.
This new series follows these nine talented female fighters of different skill levels and the Thai champions they must face in their journey to win a Muay Thai Championship in Thailand, the Mecca of Muay Thai. In following Master Toddy’s mindset, this new series focuses entirely on the physical and mental training that these girls must go through to win the Muay Thai Championship as well as the traditional training of the Thai champions they must face. To earn their chance in the top five, these Tuff Girls must first fight each other in which the loser must go home and the winner will go through a more intensified training in order to fight against some of the toughest Muay Thai Champions in Thailand!

Fight Girls (2007) is a popular reality television series which spun off from the original documentary of the same name. It is about ten female fighters from all across the United states and their journey to win a Muay Thai Championship in Thailand. These fighters included Kerry Verra, Felice Herring, Ardra Hernandez, Dawn Boyd, Jeanine Jackson, Gina Reyes, Miriam Nakamoto, Michelle Waterson, Lisa Mills, and Jennifer Tate. To earn their chance to fight in Thailand , each week two housemates were selected to fight each other for the coveted spot. This group of female fighters was narrowed down to five via three round fights; Kerry Vera, Felice Herrig, Miriam Nakamoto, Dawn Boyd, and Ardra Hernandez made the cut. The losing fighters were eliminated from the house and the winners went on to Thailand to train and fight against some of the best Muay Thai Champions in the world. With the success of and episode 4 of ESPN’s “I’d Do Anything”, Grand Master Toddy was approached by producers Cley Robers and Thomas Webber. His plan was to prepare these three American women to fight in the deadly art of Muay Thai in the country where it all began, Thailand! This would be the first time any foreigner would step into the ring in Thailand to challenge national female fighters. The documentary, Ring Girls, was then produced in 2005. This documentary followed four of Master Toddy’s fighters; Gina Carano, Lisa King, LaTasha Marzolla, and Christine Toledo. The willpower and heart of these five women was put to the test as they trained and prepared themselves mentally and spiritually to fight in Thailand. One by one viewers were introduced to each female fighter in order to understand their respective drives and motivations to fight. In the end all five American women succeeded in defeating their Thai opponents. Ring Girls soon became a popular blockbuster hit, a motivation for women all over the world to achieve their goals despite all odds and all challenges.
